Rich Task Friday - Englargment

The children had the opportunity to complete a Rich Task within their teams on Friday. Everyone had a chance to complete an individual enlargement of a whale within the classroom with the support of their peers. Then the team had to work together to enlarge the animal in the courtyard. They had to draw a grid and then draw the animal.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Science Fair Preparation

Today, the students that are preparing for the Science Fair in Term 3 had some guest speakers from PNINS to talk to the students about what is required for the Science Fair and provided some great examples of  Science experiments along with the process required and how they are displayed.

Inter-school Cross Country

Twenty students went to the Inter-school Cross Country at Ashhurst. It was a great day for all with all the children stepping up and putting their best foot forward.

Northern Cluster Swimming Competition

Eleven students from TKA and TKT went to the Freyberg Swimming Pool to compete against eight other schools in the Northern Cluster Swimming Competition. 

A great day was had by all and everyone swam their hearts out. 

Te Rangimarae Marae

A fantastic day at Te Rangimarie Marae. The children were welcomed onto the marae with a powhiri. The children had the opportunity to share their pepeha and learn about the marae and it ancestors and history. The boys learnt a haka and the girls learnt poi. The children also had the opportunity to go down to the river and collect samples with DoC.
